Marlene Mika, Operations Manager, wife to Ken and mother to Sean and Nikole, was born and raised in Bay City. She has always had a love and heart for the people of this city. She has been working at Great Lakes Dream Center since March of 2020. However she has been a supporter and volunteer since the first discussion all the way back in 2013! She has worked in the non-profit field for over 20 years, with the past decade at the Good Samaritan Rescue Mission. She has a degree in Business from Delta College and has pursued Religious Education studies at Assumption University. As the Operations Manager Marlene helps not only in the day to day running of the Dream Center, but in the caring of those in need as well. She is the Head Elder, Treasurer of the Board and Women’s Director, leading the “Bloom Where you are Planted” ministry. She also gives tours and helps us raise funds. For Marlene working for the Dream Center is a ministry – not a job. “People choose to work and volunteer here because they love the Lord and want to serve Him by serving our neighbors. There is no judgment. We serve everyone who needs help, regardless of circumstance, race, or beliefs, etc. Everyday I get to see firsthand how real people are getting real help.” Matthew 25:35-40
